Harold Allen Troyer, 85, of LaOtto, passed away, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at his home.

Harold was born in Noble County, on November 13, 1936, to the late Allen and Ruth (Leitch) Troyer. He spent his formative years on the farm in Noble County and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1954.

Harold was married to Joan Conrad, on May 11, 1956, at Asbury Church, in Albion. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2022.

Harold served in the United States Airforce for eight years and was Honorably Discharged on March 4, 1962.

Harold was a life-long farmer in Green Township. In addition to grain farming, he started dairy farming in the 1960’s, until 2017.

He was a long-time member of the Green Center United Methodist Church. In the church he taught Sunday school for many years. He enjoyed serving in many ways. He was on the Smith-Green Community School board for 12 years, the County Council, and the Farmers Mutual Insurance Board for 24 years. He was a County Commissioner for nine years. He was an active supporter of the 4-H. When he wasn’t serving on a board he liked to travel, and when he had the time he liked to fish and hunt. He loved to be outdoors.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Barney) Dice; his two sons, Tim (Julie) Troyer and Randy (Lori) Troyer; a sister, Linda (Bob) Allman; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Troyer.
