Harley Roper age 86, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018,  8:25pm at Fireside Nursing Home with his family by his side.

Harley was born September 12,  1931 in Jefferson County, son of Scott and Nancy (Beck) Roper. He married Carolyn Sue Eubank on October 5, 1956 and they later divorced.

Harley is survived by his children:  Pam Wilson and husband Kevin of Boulder, Il., Cindy Roper of Centralia, Mike Roper and special friend Lesley Ashby, Todd Roper and special friend Julie Juday of Centralia, Chad Roper and wife Velvet of Iuka, Il. and Travis Roper and wife Daytha of Pensacola, FL. 28 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Harley was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter: Melissa Roper, grandson Tristan Roper, Sisters: Mary Heitkamp, Elsie Roberts, Dora Schilling, brothers: Raymond Roper, Floyd Roper, Marshall Roper, Verlin Roper and Dean Roper.

Harley was of the Baptist faith and a member of Gilead Church. Harley served in the US Army, being stationed in Alaska and state side. He was a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver most of his professional career.

During his retirement, he played cards, enjoyed woodworking and liked watching western movies. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and loved sharing his abundance of tootsie roll supply.
