Janelle “JJ” Jones Cook, age 71, died on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at her home in Franklin, GA. She was born in Sargent, GA on January 26, 1940 to the late Clellon & Beatrice Jones. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Witcher, Charlotte Warren, Patricia Jones Howard; and brother, Winston Jones. She was a member of Sargent Baptist Church. Ms. Cook was retired from Yokogawa Corporation in Newnan, GA. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Always caring for others, she was as busy and loving as the hummingbirds she collected and watched. Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth Smith of Carrollton, GA, Debbie Lewis & her husband James of Carrollton, Caroline Longshore of Hampton, GA; sisters, Margaret Young & her husband Dallas of Carrollton, Joyce Velting of Bricktown, NJ; brother, Billy Jones of Sargent, GA; grandchildren, Michael Cook & his wife Brandy of Franklin, GA, Amber Smith of Carrollton, Nicholas Lewis, Christopher Lewis, Arianna Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Patricia Lewis, Sierra Lewis, all of Carrollton, Matthew Longshore of Hampton, great-grandchildren, Morgan Cook, John-Michael Cook, Mason Cook; nieces, nephews, and members of extended family.
