Hallie Iobst, 91, died October 10, 2015 peacefully at her home in Center Valley, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Miami, Florida in 1924. While attending the University of Miami in 1942, Hallie met Robert M. Iobst of Bethlehem, PA, who was there for Navy flight navigation training. They married in March 1944 and moved to San Francisco, CA, with his squadron. Hallie and Bob lived in the San Francisco area for 24 years, then returned to Bethlehem with their four children and lived in Bucks and Lehigh Counties. Hallie was preceded in death by Bob in September 2004. An active and enthusiastic member of Central Moravian Church, Hallie was a sacristan and an elder, and president of the Busy Workers Society for 19 years. She also volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital for 30 years. Hallie treasured and was treasured by her many friends and family and enjoyed them to the end. Hallie was fun, adventurous, creative, loving and giving, and a wonderful gardener.
Survivors: Daughter Johanna and her husband Michael Carter of Evergreen, CO; their children Amanda of New York City and Matthew of Sydney, Australia. Son Steve Iobst and his wife Debbie of Yellowstone National Park, WY; their daughter Allison and her husband Sean Hannafin of Jackson Hole, WY, and their children Christian, Gabriel and Hallie; and Steve and Debbie’s sons Ben of Dallas, TX and Steve of Tulsa, OK. Daughter Betsy and her husband Skip Isdale of Temple TX; their son Stephen of Austin, TX; their daughter Sarah and her husband Kiley Smith, and their children Krosby and Kainsley of Temple, TX; and their daughter Emmy and her husband Zane Johnston and their children Sloan and Max of Belton, TX. Daughter Barbara Iobst and her husband Jerry Gorde of Richmond, VA. Hallie is also survived by her sister, Jackie Evans, of MD and CA. Hallie is also remembered by her nieces and nephews.
