Halden Dale Casey, age 86, of West Green, GA, died at Coffee Regional Medical Center on December 26, 2012, after a brief illness. He was born and grew up in Illinois, and joined the U.S. Army in 1944. He served in Europe during the Battle of the Bulge, earning a Purple Heart and other medals. He spent 20 years in the Army, then moved to Douglas, where he worked in the Post Office for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Casey. He is survived by his wife, Helen Kirkland Casey, sons Patrick and Michael Casey and brother Bill (Pat) Casey. He was a loving step-father to David (Kim) Knight, Lisa (Sal) Giavatto and four grandchildren, Gavin and Maddi Knight and Nino and Isabella Giavatto.
