Hal Robert Stamps, age 61 of Tuscaloosa, died August 18th, 2021 at DCH Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. Stamps Jr. and Pauline Simpson; and brothers, JT Stamps III and John Stamps.
He is survived by his children, Misty Fisher (Rob), Lindsay Todhunter (Adam), Heath Stamps; grandchildren, Dakota, Brinklee, Finnley, Jace and Barrett; sister, Paula Thompson (Ray); and special friend, Beth Walker.
He was a devoted father and grandfather. He was lovingly called “Big Daddy” by his grandchildren; a legacy he carried on from his own grandfather. His grandkids and all children knew that if he was around, he had a huge stash of candy. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling and experiencing life with his loved ones.
He was hardworking and driven; he worked as an electrician at BF Goodrich for over 25 years. He was as tough as they come. No matter what life threw at him, he rarely complained and tried not to let it slow him down. One of the last things he told the nurse was to let his kids know that their Daddy is tough.
Despite his rough exterior, he was very soft hearted. His love for family was profound and he cared deeply for his friends. He could always be counted on. When he said he would do something, he meant it. You could always count on his dry sense of humor to make you laugh. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
