Gwenna May Bowen was born on June 13, 1931 and returned to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on May 28, 2016. Gwen was the daughter of Willard and Edna Poulsen of Providence, Utah and was the youngest of seven children. She married Wayne W. Bowen in the Logan LDS Temple on June 26th 1951. They resided in Brigham City, Utah and were blessed with four children: Michael (Patricia Bowen), Christine (Roger Baron), Sharon (Dean Richins), and Brenda (Dennis Decker). She loved being a grandma and great grandma and is survived by 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Gwen was an active member of the LDS church and held numerous callings in each organization. She was also very active in her community. One of her favorite past times was singing with friends in a trio for over 40 years. She found great fulfillment in singing with the trio and brought much joy and comfort to those who were privileged to enjoy their beautiful music. Gwen often talked about her desire to serve an LDS mission, but wasn’t able to do so because of her husband’s health challenges. She lovingly cared for him for many years and in doing so served a personal mission of love and sacrifice.
She was a talented musician and shared her talents in the Brigham City 15th ward for many years where she played the organ for sacrament meeting. She took special joy in the beautiful organ and piano prelude duets that she played with her beloved friend, Marilyn.
