Gwenevere Angela Danzy, age 62, of Cassopolis, died suddenly, Tuesday, October 27, 2015, in her home.She was born July 6, 1953, in Dowagiac, Michigan, to LeRoy and Velma (Ballard) Danzy. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Julia Danzy and Will Henry and Margaret Ballard; her father, LeRoy H. Danzy; one sister, Gail Camellia Danzy; and two brothers, Kerwin Lee Danzy and Eldred Dean Danzy. Gwen dedicated her life to children. She owned and operated Danzy Family Childcare Home for over thirty years.

She had “The Look” which was only part of the loving way she earned the respect of all the children she came in contact with. She believed in children being raised the right way. Gwen was a giver and loved to sing. She ran the food pantry at her church, The Church of Cassopolis. Gwen was Activity Director at the church and worked with the children’s ministry, including the children’s choirs. She was also active in Cass County 4H. She liked to crochet. Gwen loved family time and playing board games. Gwen will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Velma Danzy of Cassopolis, two sisters, Leronna (Forrest) Saunders of Grand Rapids, Sondra Mose of Elkhart, Indiana; two brothers, Vance (Crystal) Danzy of Casa Grande, Arizona, James Glenn of Phoenix, Arizona; nine chosen daughters, Sharon (Max Gary) Williams of Cassopolis, A-Niyah Christian of Cassopolis, Kandice Danzy of Cassopolis, Chaquitta Danzy of Vandalia, Shawanda (Ryan) Williams of Cassopolis, Caressa Burwell of Dowagiac, Emerald (Ryan) Higgins of Niles, Shuntais (Starr) Danzy of Maryland, Betty Deans of Vandalia; a community of godchildren and god grandchildren; two nieces, Sudan Saunders and Lazurea Saunders, both of Grand Rapids, and two nephews, Kulawnie Saunders, of Grand Rapids, and Ariston Danzy of Arizona; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
