Gwen Plumlee, former resident of Wichita Falls, died peacefully in her home in San Antonio, TX, after a four year battle against ovarian cancer. Her son, John Charles Plumlee, daughter Lucy Linda Williams, and a team of Hospice workers were in attendance when she passed on June in Macomb, OK on March 28, 1925 to parents Dewey and Besse Elizabeth (Williams) Ray and later adopted by her step-father, Robert Dyton Farish, Gwen attended elementary and high school in Konawa, OK. She attended college at East Central State in Ada, and later graduated with honors with a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of was a member of the Floral Heights United Methodist Church and served there in many capacities: as an official board member of the church for three years, secretary of the CouplesClass, and in the latchkey program. As a retired public school teacher (17 years), and a former volunteer at the Wichita General Hospital, she loved to give her time and energy to those in need. She has belonged to several organizations through the years including Rainbow Girls (Konawa), Mothers Club, Delphian Club, and Sorosis Club (Waurika), and the Stitch & Chatter Club (Wichita Falls).She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Euclid Bower Plumlee. Survivors in addition to her son John (San Antonio, TX) and daughter Lucy (Los Angeles, CA) include six grandchildren: Kelly Williams (Point Roberts, WA), Charles Alexander Plumlee, John David Plumlee, Rebekah Marie Plumlee, Jacqueline Gwen Plumlee, and Sierra Joy Plumlee, all of San Antonio. Also, six great-grand children: Spencer Russell Williams, Lucien Bower Williams, Miles Everett Williams, Boone Wesley Williams (all of Point Roberts, WA), Lillian Josephine Plumlee and Logan Alexander Plumlee of San Antonio. Other survivors include son-in-law Dr. C.R. Williams, daughter-in-law Deborah Lynn Plumlee, Greg Kean Williams, husband of granddaughter Kelly, and Tonya Plumlee wife of grandson
