Gwendola L. Hall, 85, of Galesburg, died at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg. Gwen was born October 28, 1929, in Cicero, the daughter of Ernest M. and Felicity Evans Droke.
She married Wilbur Lee Hall on September 7, 1947, in East Galesburg.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Rita) Hall and Kevin Hall both of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Steve (Joy) Hall of Bloomington, Angie Clary of Galesburg, Dustin Lee Hall of Gilson, and Sarah Marie Hall of Galesburg; and four great-grandchildren, Nick and Joey Hall, Carter Clary, and Conner Pearson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee on December 5, 2002; her parents; and two brothers, Jim and Merle. Gwen graduated from Galesburg High School.
She worked as a secretary and was a homemaker. She also co-owned Hall’s Electric with her husband Lee for over 30 years. Gwen enjoyed making all types of arts and crafts and loved to garden. She also belonged to numerous card clubs. Gwen never said “No” to a game of cards! She also decorated cakes for over 25 years. Gwen loved to cook and host parties at her house. Gwen loved people and always had a smile on her face. She was a member of East Galesburg Community Chapel. Gwen was also a member of the Red Hat Club.
