Gwen Guillet, a long time resident and teacher in Mancos, Cortez, and Phoenix, AZ left us peacefully Monday night, October 5th. She was married in Mancos to Bill Guillet, who preceded her in death in 1976.
She was a member of the Mancos chapter of P.E.O. and of the Mancos Methodist church. In 1963, she moved with her family; Bill, Ann and Barry to Phoenix, Arizona where she continued to teach until she retired in 1985.
She then spent more time volunteering in her church and at John C. Lincoln Hospital and in traveling. She loved to travel and it was a joy to her, to see a lot of the world. The last eight years she has lived at Loyalton in Flagstaff near her son, Barry and her two granddaughters, Kory and Sarah Guillet.
She is also survived by her daughter, Ann Holmquist of Eugene, Oregon and her sister, Phyllis Pulliam of Grand Junction, Colorado. Gwen was born in Austin, Colorado in 1919 and was 90 years old in March. Gwen spent so much of her life helping others that she will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
