Guillermo “Willie” Dominguez, age 76, a resident of Pasadena for 41 years, and previously of Glen Burnie, passed away at Hospice of the Chesapeake on May 8, 2017 after fighting lung cancer for more than three years.

He was born on June 26, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Socorro and Gabino Dominguez. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving until 1962. After attending college, he went to work for the US Government Printing Office until his retirement. Willie was a proud member of the American Legion for decades donating his time and money to support the operations of the Legion. Willie enjoyed playing golf and watching his favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys. Willie was a very proud family man. His main passion without a doubt was baseball. He played as a youth but injuries prevented him from pursuing his dream. He then spent the better part of four decades coaching baseball. In this time he touched the lives of hundreds of youths throughout Anne Arundel county.

Along with his parents, Willie is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years: Nina Dominguez; his son Steven Paul Dominguez; his two sisters Josefina and Carmen Dominguez; and his brother Ricardo Dominguez.

He is survived by his two loving daughters: Jan Smith and her husband Chris, of Westminster, and Joanne Taylor and her husband Bob, of Catonsville; his devoted son Ken Dominguez, of Pasadena; his dear granddaughter Mariana Taylor, of Catonsville; his two brothers: Alvaro Dominguez, of Tolleson, Arizona, and Enrinque Dominguez, of El Paso, Texas; and his sister Emilia Dominguez, also of El Paso.
