Guillermo “Willie” Martinez, 84, resident of Silver City, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.
Willie was born October 13, 1926 in Santa Rita to Luz Padron and Jesus M Martinez. He enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. He was a member of the Good Sam RV Club and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from the Mountain View School District in Mountain View, CA.
He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe; 1 son, Edwardo R Martinez, Gilroy, CA; 2 daughters, Marylou Villegas, Silver City, Yolanda Labrado, Livermore, CA; 4 brothers, Jesus M Martinez, Felipe Martinez, Genaro Martinez, Baltazar Martinez; 1 sister, Margaret Merino; 28 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Willie Martinez; brother, Gilbert Martinez and a sister, Teresa Colby.
