Guadalupe “Lupe” Valenzuela, 73, Deming resident, formerly of Palomas, passed away Monday September 28, 2009 at University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Lupe was born on March 18, 1936 to Luz Granillo and Juan Carbajal in Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a communicant of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sons, Efren Carbajal and wife, Rosa of Glendale, AZ; Ernesto Carbajal of Deming; Reymundo Carbajal and Monserratt Valenzuela and wife, Lourdes, of Palomas; Alonzo Valenzuela and wife, Maria Luisa, of Chandler, AZ; Juan Manuel Valenzuela and wife, Guadalupe, and Hilario Valenzuela of Oklahoma; daughters, Gloria and Maria de Carmen Valenzuela of Deming and Lorena Carbajal and husband, Abran, of Oklahoma; brother, Manuel Carbajal and wife, Rebecca, of Deming; sisters, Socorro Holguin of Deming; Petra Gomez and husband, Tomas, of Silver City and Ramona Carbajal of Palomas; 28 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ernesto, Reymundo, Ernest Ivan and Manuel Carbajal, Monserratt and Alonzo Valenzuela. Honorary pallbearers will be Efren Carbajal, Juan Manuel and Hilario Valenzuela and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Luz Carbajal, husband, Salvador Valenzuela, daughter, Luz Elena Velez and sister, Modesta Camarillo.
