Guadalupe R. Cortez, age 70, went home to be with the Lord Saturday July 18, 2020 at Harlingen Medical Center. Guadalupe was born December 13, 1949 and was a lifelong resident of Harlingen. She was an exceptional mother to her ten children who instilled Christian values and hard work ethic in each of her children.
Guadalupe had a strong foundation of faith and was a Christian prayer warrior who loved attending her church services at Iglesia La Fuente del Cielo. She was always willing and wanting to help others. In her leisure she enjoyed gardening, cooking and celebrating family birthdays.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Cortez Martinez and her parents, the late Justo Rojo and Cira R. Rojo.
She is survived by to cherish her beautiful memory her ten children, Gandia Cortez, Ofir Cortez (Teresa), Erik Cortez (Martha C.), Anel Cortez (Irene Heredia), Deni Cortez (Byron Hansen), Fanny Cortez, Pedro Cortez (Gloria), Guadalupe Cortez (Patsy Lopez), Pablo I. Cortez and Mercedes G. Cortez, 26 Grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Javier Rojo.
