Born in Ripley, MS, Grover moved to Pearl River County in the 1950’s. He worked in the saw mill industry, was a cattle farmer, and grew a garden which he enjoyed sharing with his neighbors. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Childs Sr and Lula Mauney Childs; son, Danny Joe Childs; 4 brothers and 5 to cherish his memory are his loving wife of over 70 wonderful years, Lorrain Rinehart Childs; son, Grover Wayne Childs and wife Carol; daughter, Barbara Jean McDaniel and husband Donald; daughter in law, Cindy Roche; grandchildren, Randall, Stephanie (Joel), Jason (Melissa), Michael (Andrea), Krystle (Matt), and John David (Carley); 14 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and 3 sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
