Grover Cleveland McKinney, Jr., 94, passed peacefully with his family by his side Sat., Feb. 23, 2013. Grover was born July 27, 1918 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Dr. Grover and Elva McKinney. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Jane. Survived by sons, Cleve (Terri) and Jim McKinney; grandchildren, Carolyn Wethington, Mike McKinney, Kimberly Lucas, Jennifer Pomplun, Lucas McKinney and John McKinney; great grandchildren, Ryan and Hannah Wethington, Sydney and Meagan McKinney, Tanner and Skyler Lucas and Austin Bannon; niece, Jean Lavoie. He retired as a Civil Engineer after 39 years with the Bureau of Reclamation. He served during WWII as a 1st Lieutenant, was wounded and taken prisoner after D-Day, then liberated after the fall of Paris.
