Gretchen Van Boemel, 66, passed away on September 25, 2022, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on December 29, 1955, in Glendale, California to Gerard and Marjorie (Beale) Van Boemel.
Gretchen was a lover of animals and a long-time resident of Cloudcroft, New Mexico. Her proudest moment was acquiring her Ph.D. in Ophthalmology earning her place as Assistant Professor of Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California Doheny Eye Institute. The family of Gretchen is at peace knowing that she has been reunited with her life partner in Heaven.
Survivors include her brother, Edward Van Boemel; her sister-in-law, Monique Martinez; her nieces, Amanda Brown and Jessica Brown; as well as numerous extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her life partner, Emma Isela Martinez.
