Gretchen passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the age of 93. She was born April 12, 1922 in Bluffton, IN to the late Gus and Rena (Hornaday) Bennett. Gretchen was united in marriage to David Kiel on December 26, 1939, who preceded her in death in 1978. She later was united in marriage to Richard Kools on June 14, 1991, who preceded her in death in 1998. Gretchen enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and traveling. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends playing dominoes. Gretchen loved the Lord with all her heart.
Gretchen is survived by her children, David Charles (Judy) Kiel, Loren Paul “Skip” Kiel, Victoria Eloise (William) Johnston, Mary Evangeline Whittaker and Alison Marie (Tony) Johnson; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren; nephews, Gus and Henry (Karen) Bennett; and niece, Linda Taylor. Gretchen was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles (Mick) Bennett.
