Greg grew up in Linthicum, Maryland the eldest of seven children, and was a celebrated student and athlete. As a ten-year old, he read the entire Junior Encyclopedia Britannica from A to Z, and remembered literally all of it. Afterward, if anyone wanted to know, for example, how many moons Jupiter has, they asked him. Before there was Google, there was Greg. He was the first in a long line of Vaughan men to attend Mt. St. Joseph High School in Baltimore. He then earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Brown University. Greg had a remarkable facility with foreign languages.
Beginning in his early twenties, Greg lived with mental illness. Despite significant challenges, he remained consistently positive, highly social, and eternally devoted to his family.
