Gregory LaShawn King, a native and resident of Jackson, better known to family and friends as “Guru” and “Greek,” passed away suddenly Saturday, March 28, 2020. Born Sept. 17, 1983 to Cedric D. John and Carrie King, he was 36 years of age. He enjoyed hanging out with family and friends and listening to music.
Preceding him in death were his grandfather, George King; uncle, Ervin King; and aunt, Delois Ann King.
Left to cherish his loving memories are his mother, Carrie King Quaites of Jackson; father, Cedric D. Johnson Sr. of Long Beach, Calif.; one son, Cashawn King; two daughters, Kenyatta Allen and Kelis King, all of Dallas, Texas; the mother of his children, Krystal Armstead of Dallas, Texas; stepdaughter, Madisyn Morris; special friend, Johnnqueshia Barnes of Jackson; two brothers, Lamarcus King (India Moore) of Jackson and Cedric D. Johnson Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Sabrina King (Ladarian Davis) of Jackson, Ceidra Johnson of Long Beach, Calif., and Sharnay Johnson of London, England; grandmothers, Inez King of Jackson and Margret Johnson of Long Beach, Calif.; and a devoted cousin, like a brother, Adrian King of Jackson.
