Gregory L. “G’Scony” Hoskins, 50, of Ottawa, went to be with the Lord and Family on July 31, 2021, which left a hole in the hearts of us all. Gregory was born in Chicago on September 28, 1970 to the proud parents, mother, Rosane Williams of Arkansas and father, Fletcher Hoskins of Alabama.
Both parents preceded him in death. Greg was always a free spirit. He graduated from Fredrick Von Schiller Elementary School and went on to Near North Academy High School, until his sophomore year. He continued his adult education and went on to receive his GED.
That free spirit that we all know and love, loved everyone. If he, had it and you didn’t, you did when he got done. He loved the outdoor life, and fishing was his favorite. Hanging out with family and friends making memories was his best joy. Gee always loved the kids; yours, his, mine.
He always said “they are our next generation, if we don’t show them, who will?” Gregory “G’Scony” Hoskins leaves to mourn his passing; his wife, Denise Carter; five children, Shana Thompson of Chicago, Gregory Mack of Atlanta, Xavier Hoskins of Chicago, Gregory Hoskins, Jr. and Divine Hoskins of Chicago; three sisters, Sharmaine (Ricky) Williams of Chicago, Sharia (Anthony) Williams of Chicago, and Latina ( Darrell Garner) Williams of Chicago; his best friend and cousin, BJ Redmond; an aunt, Diane Baker; great aunt Johnnie Mae Adams; five grandchildren; and a host of broken hearted cousins, nephews, nieces, family, and friends.Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, best friend Mark Schavers and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
