Gregory Hass, 59, Three Oaks, died February 22 at Battle Creek VA Medical Center, Battle Creek, Michigan.
Greg was born September 10, 1946, to Ervin and Lorraine (Kramer) Hass in Chicago. He attended school in Lakeside, graduating from St. Joe High School in the early ’60s.
Greg obtained his Masters’s in Psychology from Michigan State University where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Greg also served his country in the U. S. Army. Greg was very passionate about sports and the outdoors. While playing in local basketball leagues he was known as “Big G” (height 6 ft 6 in) and while playing tennis he was called the “Right Hander”. Greg spent many days with his family on the beach sailing his catamaran or he could always be found on a golf course. Greg fought a courageous battle with alcohol addiction, suffering from many afflictions. He was the ultimate trooper, and through it all he shared a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to others.
Greg was a charming and handsome gentleman who made friends with everyone he met.
Greg is survived by his sister, Jody (Rudi) Prusa, Union Pier; nephew Joshua (Isabelle) Morden, Montreal Quebec; loving companion Pat Maxwell, and his many loyal friends who stood by him during his battle with addiction.
