Gregory Daniel “Danny” Foley Jr., 80 of Grafton passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born October 16, 1932, son of the late Gregory D Foley Sr. and Ruby Swisher Foley. He was married to Doris “Pinky” Freeze Foley who preceded him in death, March 24, 2009. Danny graduated from Grafton High School in 1950. He was a stellar athlete lettering in Football, Track, Baseball and Basketball. He attended Fairmont State College on a Track scholarship and later joined the United States Air Force. He was part of the military police and played for the Air Force Baseball Team. Once returning home, he was in the US Army Reserves and went to work for the Department of Corrections as a counselor for over twenty years at Pruntytown and Salem facilities. Danny was a member of the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post # 12 and Moose Lodge. He was also an avid supporter of all Grafton High School sports and the Mother’s Day Shrine. Surviving are five children, Sally Bender and David, Grafton, Patricia Henderson and Mark, Grafton, Diana Oxley and Dennis, MD, Michael Renshaw and Janet, OH, and Ray Renshaw, Newburg; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, Thomas “Mickey” Foley and Saundra, Grafton, Tim Foley, Grafton; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Greg D Foley III; one daughter, Danetta Foley; one brother, Charles Foley; one sister, Mary Jo Vance.
