Gregg William Lindbloom, of Idaho Falls, passed away in his sleep on November 2, 2020, at his home. He is a loving son, brother, friend, dad, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Gregg was born October 18, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, to Kathleen “Kathy” Mae LaPrise Lindbloom and Fred William Lindbloom Jr. both of Detroit, Michigan. Gregg’s early years were spent in Detroit with his large family of eight, several aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins. In 1955, Gregg’s baby brother Freddy was born. His parents divorced in 1956 and the family moved to Idaho. Kathy met and married Gregg’s step-father William C Bell in 1958. Gregg’s baby sister Rosemary was born in 1959. Gregg’s father Fred married Joyce House in 1963 and Gregg gained four step-siblings: Kay, Jess, Liz, and Brent; soon two sisters joined his list of siblings: Karen and Joyce Ann. As a child, his family lived in several towns in Idaho and Washington before moving back to Michigan in the 60’s. Gregg’s mom and step-father were professional musicians. Kathy was a singer and Bill Bell was a clarinet/sax/flute player. Later Kathy married John R Horan. All three of his fathers were all a very important part of his life. He said he was so special that he needed three fathers to raise him.
Gregg loved to travel. This lifestyle enabled Gregg to develop the lifelong ability to make friends easily. Gregg returned to Idaho Falls in the summer of 1966. Gregg started Clair E. Gale Junior High School that fall. He excelled at mathematics, enjoyed wood shop, and played clarinet three years in the school band. He attended Idaho Falls High School where, through a friend, Lynn Cox, met and dated his future first wife, Yvonne Beasley.
Gregg was offered an appointment to the US Air Force academy. After wrestling with the decision for quite some time, he declined and joined the Air Force as an enlisted man. He did basic training at Lackland AFB Texas and electronic/computer school in Meridian, Mississippi. Gregg and Yvonne married September 14, 1973, and together they had 4 children: one son, William “Chris” and three daughters, Desiree, LaMonica, and Fawn. They were divorced February 21, 1984.
After Gregg left the Air Force, the family moved to Idaho Falls and then on to Montana where Gregg enjoyed the Big Sky country and worked in his own business, Les Tronics, as an appliance and TV repairman. He attended college in Montana. He later worked for The Appliance Place, Sears, and B and B Appliances. His most recent job was with A-1 Quality Appliance. Fixing things was always a passion with Gregg. He was always taking things apart in order to see how they worked. Most times, he was able to put them back together. People would often call and ask for his help to fix things.
Gregg had many loves of his life, girlfriends, and children.
Gregg really loved his grandkids and shared their special moments often with everyone. He tried his best to attend their special events and share their accomplishments. Some of his grandchildren have many of his talents.
Gregg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman and Noema LaPrise, and Fred William Sr and Nellie J Waldo Lindbloom; his parents, Fred William Lindbloom Jr. and Kathleen ”Kathy” Mae LaPrise Horan; Step-fathers, William “Bill” C Bell Jr., and John R Horan., and a brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Nelson.
