Grace Virginia Guthrie Sheets, 94, of Independence, WV, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Pine Ridge with her family by her side.
Grace was born January 6, 1922, in Terra Alta, a daughter of the late Delphia and Mamie (Smith) Groves.
She was a homemaker, but also worked for the Preston County Board of Education at the Independence and Newburg Schools. Grace also worked as a sitter for Hospice Care Corporation. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by five daughters and spouse, Carol Hall of Kingwood, June and Bill Unger of Capon Bridge, Mary Guthrie of Tunnelton, Donna Roman of Newburg, Brenda Buckingham of Tunnelton; her special daughter-in-law, Mindy Delaney; grandchildren and spouses, Cindy Roby of Newburg, Milford Sliger of Hedgesville, Kathy and Herb Lipscomb of Tunnelton, Ted Ringer of Terra Alta, Christina Rager of Grafton, Mark and Jeannie Ringer of Masontown, Larry and Jennifer Guthrie Jr. of Florida, Scott and Tonya Guthrie of Parkersburg, Michele and Jamie Senfuentes of Texas, Joshua Rodeheaver of Tunnelton; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Stanley Guthrie in 1966 and Bruce Sheets; her daughter, Patricia Freeland; her son, Larry Guthrie Sr.; three infant children.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street on Thursday, December 8, 2016, from 3-8pm; on Friday, December 9, 2016, from 10:00 a.m.
