Grace Pruitt Fannin, age 91, of South Shore, Kentucky passed on from her mortal life on 11-28-2022. Grace was the daughter of the late Henry Lee Pruitt and Mary Bell Potter Pruitt. She was born on 02-01-1931, in Garrison of Lewis County Kentucky. Grace was the eighth child of eleven children, sixth of the nine who lived to adulthood.
Grace was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Keen Jefferson “Jack” Fannin in 2014, and by her oldest daughter Debra G. Fannin Moore in May 2022. While Grace has been blessed with longevity, she has been preceded in death by all of her siblings; John Raymond Pruitt, Mitchell Jewell Pruitt, Alma Pruitt Bloomfield, Jessie Opal Pruitt Bloomfield, James Junior Pruitt, Virgil Pruitt, Wayne Pruitt and Oscar Pruitt.
Grace is survived by one daughter, Jacklyn Fannin (David) Miracle of Stroudsburg, PA, son-in-law, Terry Moore of South Shore, KY. She is survived by three grandchildren: Kelly Moore (Donnie) Nolen, of Greenup, KY; Emily Moore (Chris) Morgan, of Pickerington, OH; and David Caleb (Nadine Jahn) Miracle, of Elkton, MD. She is survived by eight great-grandchildren; Hannah Nolen (Kenton) Boggs, Travis Nolen, Kurtis Morgan, Alex Morgan, Ava Morgan, Cooper Miracle, Clay Miracle, and Ashton Miracle.
Grace’s favorite color was hot pink. Her favorite foods were cheeseburgers, pizza, and lemonade. In recent months she took a strong liking to sprite and twinkies. Her favorite thing to do, especially in recent months, was watching birds at the feeder outside her window in the little picket fenced yard at South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation ( SSNR).
Grace’s family would like to thank her care team at South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she resided since December 2021. There, Grace was kept safe and unafraid of the dark. She was reminded that she had value and was loved, and she was able to give love to others. She was nourished and comforted from the home cooked meals, like the kind she grew up on. Her medical and emotional needs were cared for, assessed, and adjusted throughout the progression of her disease during the year she was there, by the very professional, skilled, caring, patient, and persevering staff who became like family to her. When mom was passing, all of the stories and support that they shared with us, meant more than words could ever express. We will forever hold them all in our hearts with love and gratitude.
