Grace Kelly (Pray), age 104, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Avamere Transitional Care Center in Brighton, Colorado. She was born January 11, 1915, in Saylesville, Rhode Island, to Harry and Louise (Comier) Pray. After graduating high school, she worked various jobs. In her late twenties, Grace married James Kelly. After raising her two daughters, she returned to school and proudly completed two additional years of Orthoptist training, which essentially became her profession for the next twenty years.

Grace, better known as “Nanny” to loved ones, always like gardening, playing Gin Rummy cards, reading and completing tricky word search puzzles. She was also an avid collector of an assortment of different salt & pepper shakers, along with other memorable trinkets. She always cherished the time spent with her grand and great-grandchildren, and even helped raise them during their upbringing. Grace always boasted the fact that she knew she would live to be over 100 years old. She was known to be stubborn, strong willed and yet kind. She was very rarely sick. She was an active person. Her favorite meal was a McDonalds cheeseburger, with a senior coffee, and a hot fudge sundae with NO NUTS. Grace made a beautiful imprint on the hearts of all those whom had the opportunity of knowing her and will be truly missed by all her friends and family.

Grace is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Stephen Cardos of Brighton, seven grandchildren; Tammy Collins, Eleanor “Lee” McDevitt, Jackie Klaus, Stephen Cardos, Kelly Laurienti, Nicole Neiswender, and Michael Cardos; twenty-two great grandchildren; and eleven great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Harry and Louise Pray, her loving husband James Kelly; her daughter Jean (Mike) Lucas, and her ten siblings.
