Grace M. (LaMee) McDonald Fowler, age 98 of Sanford passed away Monday, February 11, 2013, at Nottingham Place.

The daughter of the late Delore and Flora (Hackett) LeMee was born on February 3, 1915, in Midland where she was raised and educated. On August 17, 1933, she married Donald McDonald. He predeceased Grace on April 19, 1951, and she was left to raise their five children. She went to work at Dow Chemical, retiring in 1972 after 23 years of service. Grace married Lloyd Fowler on January 6, 1962, and they spent 34 years together.

After Grace and Lloyd retired they purchased a resort in Curtis, Michigan where they spent over 24 years. In 1994 they sold Fowlers Resort to her daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and John Goulette. In 1996 Lloyd passed away and Grace remained in the Upper Peninsula until 2003 when her health declined and she moved to Adult Foster Care in Midland.

Grace loved to cook; famous for her bread and pies. She spent many hours in her beautiful flower gardens and loved to play cards. She was a devout Catholic and was very active in her church, especially her little country-style church (St. Timothy) in Curtis. She was a former member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Ryan and attended St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sanford.

Grace is survived by three children, sons, Donald McDonald of Brant and Douglas (Jane) McDonald of Sanford; daughter, Jean (Robert) Ostrander of Sanford.

She is also survived by a stepdaughter, Susan (Jim) Bryce of Pinconning; -10- grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by daughters, Jane Roggow (2000), Bonnie Goulette (2009); stepdaughter, Linda Chew (2010); granddaughter, Sherri Rockafellow (1975); four brothers and two sisters.
