It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Joanne Sasser announces her passing on January 2, 2021, in Okeechobee, FL at the age of 89. Grace passed away peacefully in her sleep. Grace was born and raised in Deerfield Beach, FL, where she also spent many years with her late husband W. Roy Smith, Sr. raising her family and owning a grocery business.
In the mid-’90s, after residing for several years in West Palm Beach, Grace moved to Okeechobee, where she spent the remainder of her life. Grace was a pillar of strength for all those who knew her, and she lived her life with great courage and integrity. Grace was deeply loved and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Grace was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne Saeva.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Kay Garcia (Andrew Garcia); son, W. Roy Smith, Jr. (Karen Smith); six grandchildren, Tammy Bishop, Andrew Garcia, Jr., Merriane Lahmeur, Stacia Powell, Julie Scott, and Allison Reece; along with numerous great-grandchildren.
