Gordon Wayne Smith, 81, died Monday Jan. 14, 2013 in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Indianapolis. Gordon was born Oct. 31, 1931 in Indianapolis. He was employed as a Jewelry polisher at Goodmans Jeweler. He was a past scout master and worked with Special Olympics. He was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed the Indy 500 races and the Indiana State Fair.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy J.”Dottie” (Johnson) Smith of Indianapolis, three sons, Gordon Smith Jr. of Avon, Kevin Smith of South Carolina and Warren Smith of Noblesville, a daughter, Angela Smith of Indianapolis, two siblings, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, George W. Smith, his mother, Allie M. (Bray) Brinkman, son, Brandon K. Smith and a sister.
