Gordon Thomas Hilton, 69, of Scottsdale AZ, passed away on October 16, 2010 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Janet Foster, his daughter Lorraine Hilton-Meredith, her husband Danny and granddaughter Alexandra, his son Allan Hilton and grandson Jack, his sister Christine Hilton and his mother-in-law Gloria Foster. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews Lisa, Max, Millie, Ella, Seth, Leah, Naomi, Maeve and Finnian. Gordon was born in Wolverhampton United Kingdom on August 8, 1941. He received his doctorate in Political Science from Lancaster University and was associated with the Richardson Peace Research Institute in London. He resided for many years in the Chicago area where he was a professor of Political Science first at Northwestern University and then at Northern Illinois University. Gordon loved the United States. He was an avid English football fan, an accomplished guitarist, and loved sitting with his dogs in the Arizona sunshine. Gordon had boundless energy and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. His family and many friends will remember his stories with great fondness.
