Gordon L. (Gordie) Fox, 86, of 2208 Mill Lane, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at The Gatehouse Hospice following a courageous battle with cancer.

Gordie and his wife, the former Madeline E. Bobst, observed their 67th wedding anniversary on July 8, 2011.

Gordie was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church and a former church trustee. He played softball for the Keystone League and then played fast pitch at Powy’s.

Gordie was a member of American Legion Post 104, Montoursville, and a member of the Highland Lake and Red Rock Gun and Hunting Clubs. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching NASCAR.

Gordie was a letter carrier for the U. S.

Born November 26, 1924 in Williamsport, he was the son of LaRue and Ethel Worthington Fox.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Judy L. (Skip) Boyer of Allenwood and Linda L. (Thomas McFadden) Fox of South Williamsport; grandchildren, Mark (Kelly) Hower and Melissa (Greg) Gray; step grandchildren Christopher (Sarah)and Michael (Heather) Boyer; great grandchildren, Brock and Lance Hower, McKenzie Gray and Zachary Kilgus; step great grandchildren, Danielle, Alexis and Dakota Boyer, Chelsey (Ryan) Scanlin; step great great grandson, Trevor Gray..

Gordie was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Lynn Fox, step great grandson, Tylor Gray and sisters, Eleanor Paulhamus and Geraldine Wright.
