Gordon D. Manning, Sr., 79, of Farmington and formerly of Bristol, beloved husband of Rachel H. Manning, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Bristol Hospital.
He was born November 29, 1928 in Braintree, VT, son of the late Dan B. and Charlotte (Knight) Manning. A longtime resident of Bristol and the surrounding towns, Gordon was employed at Sears for 35 years until his retirement in 1993. He then went to work for Prudential Realty from 1994 to 2000.
Besides his wife, Rachel, he is survived by his three children, Donna Motyl and her husband, Mike, of Simsbury, Diane Nash and her husband, Vinnie, of Marysville, WA, and Gordon Manning, Jr. of Burlington, WA; her four grandchildren, Carolyn Nash and her husband, Rafael Molina, Shaun Redman and his wife, Christina, Wayne Nash and his wife, Tiffany, and Scott Redman and his girlfriend, Nicole Scinto; his sister, Jennie Hobbs and her husband, Jim, of Charlestown, NH; his brother-in-law, Larry Hosford of North Hartland, VT; several nieces and nephews.
