Goebel Franklin Reeves, 79, of Flemingsburg, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.
Born August 22, 1936, in Fleming County, he was the son of the late Kelly Reeves and Ruby Stine.
Goebel was a retired assistant plant manager for U.S. Shoe Corp after 34 years. After retirement he went to work for Ken’s New Market as a meat cutter. He loved his farm and raising cattle and was also known as a weather man. He was a member of Muses Mills Christian Holiness Church. As well, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a huge UK fan.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Pauline Ellison Reeves; two sons, Doug (Sandy) Reeves of Wallingford and Jeffrey Reeves of Hilton Head Island, SC; a special granddaughter, Lynsay (Lane) Jones; brothers, James (Debbie) Reeves of Portsmouth and Charlie Reeves of Lexington; sister and brothers-in-laws, Fred and Eula Flora and Justine Gulley; and several nieces and nephews.
