Gloria B. Rose, 89, passed away on October 29, 2015. She was born in Ottawa, Illinois on July 7, 1926 and lived in Arizona for nearly forty years.
Toward the end of World War II, Gloria toured Germany and Japan with a USO dance troupe, which instilled in her a love of travel.
She married Joseph W. Rose on August 19, 1950, and they started a journey together that would last over sixty years. She and Joe made memories that included golf vacations (after surprising her husband by secretly taking golf lessons), summering in Santa Barbara, weekend trips to Las Vegas (where she enjoyed seeing Elvis, playing blackjack, and, more recently, watching the dancing waters of the Bellagio fountain), and traveling to new places with family and friends.
Gloria often remarked that some of the best years of her life with Joe were spent in St. Louis, Missouri, where she was active in the Junior League and at Old Warson Country Club. She loved Italian food, was an excellent cook, and took great pride in her art collection and in keeping an impeccable home.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include daughter Cindy (Steve), son Mark (Debbie), grandchildren Ashley, Joseph (Ashley Marie), Madison, and many nieces and nephews.
