Gloria M.(Caron) Maiorano 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Tucson, Arizona on February 13, 2013. She was born on May 15, 1927 to Mary and Edgar J. Caron in Norwich, CT.
Gloria graduated from Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge, MA, in 1945, attended nursing school in Chester, PA., and then graduated from William W. Backus Hospital nursing program in Norwich, CT in1948. She is preceded in death by her husband Dominic J. Maiorano whom she married in Greenville, CT, in 1949. Together they raised four children and eventually moved to Tucson, AZ in 1990 after retiring from the Norwich Police Department and Norwich State Hospital respectively.
Gloria continued her interest in nursing by volunteering at Tucson General Hospital and Tucson Heart Hospital.
