Gloria Lorraine (Seglem) Greenstreet passed away September 17, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a battle with cancer. Gloria was born to Roy Acton and Eleonora (Nelson) Seglem in Chicago, Illinois on August 21, 1939. Gloria was raised on the family farm in northern Illinois, graduating high school in 1957 from Maple Park High School, Maple Park, IL.

Gloria worked for many years in Chicago as a clerk typist. She married Donald Greenstreet on February 12, 1965, in Sycamore, IL. The couple moved to Canon City in 1971 where they raised two sons, Jerold (Jerry) Greenstreet and Richard (Rick) Greenstreet.

Gloria was a devoted wife and mother who loved her sons as much as any mother could and was just as devoted and loving to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, up to the very end. Gloria never missed an opportunity to document an important moment or event in her family’s lives either through writing, tape recording, or video. Gloria could be found at every holiday or function that involved her family. She loved to sit and play games, put together puzzles, or read with the children. She was a collector of all things, for she believed that everything had a place or a purpose or was destined to find a home with someone in need. Gloria could be counted on to give encouragement and positive support to everyone in any situation.

Soon after moving to Canon City, Gloria joined Sweet Adeline’s and volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother when her two sons were in Scouts. She became active in Women’s Aglow in 1978 and held many local positions throughout the years. She served on the area board for seven years. Gloria participated in many mission trips with Aglow, several in U.S. cities as well as traveling to South Africa, Mozambique, and Swaziland. Gloria loved to travel and throughout her life, she traveled to every U.S. capitol.

She was a woman of strong faith and believed in sharing and teaching God’s word.  Gloria was extremely devoted and tireless in her efforts to share her faith and bring the word of God to others. She became a volunteer at the Colorado Department of Corrections where she held weekly Bible studies at Colorado Women’s Correctional Facility, devoting 29 years to her prison volunteer work. In 2008 she was recognized as volunteer of the year.

In 2010, Gloria was ordained through Joan Hunter Ministries in Pinehurst, Texas.

Gloria is survived by her sons, Jerold Greenstreet and Rick (Tammy) Greenstreet; four grandchildren, Christopher (Monica) Greenstreet, Amanda (Alan) Paxton, Breanna Greenstreet (Tom Henry), and Tyler Greenstreet; five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Gaige, Lyla, Peyton, and Riley; her brother, Roy Jr. (Patricia) Seglem of Oswego, IL; nieces, Shannon (Andrew) Wickham of Montgomery, IL, Jennifer Seglem of Canon City; nephew, Michael (Amy) Seglem of DeKalb, IL; as well as several cousins, and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1996; her parents; one infant son; her daughter-in-law, Tracy Greenstreet; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
