Gloria J. Langeland Gloria was born in Kalamazoo on September 4, 1937 to the late John M. Rottier and Lyda Eleanor “Elinor” (Poelstra) Rottier and was a life-long resident of Kalamazoo. On July 14, 1958 she was joined in marriage to Robert Jay Langeland who preceded her in death on April 1, 2001.

She is survived by her two sons, Fred (Brenda) Langeland of Plainwell and Tom (Jane) Langeland of Ypsilanti; five grandchildren, Caitlin (Brandon) Brewer and Jason, Spencer, Isaac and Robert Langeland; two great-grandchildren Ryan and Hayleigh Brewer; her sister Joyce Ruster; two half-brothers, Ross and Richard Rottier and four half-sisters, Jane Porter, Julia, Kathryn and Robin Rottier ; a step-brother Stanley Bosker; her sister-in-law Donna (Langeland) Thomas and several nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School and Davenport College. She was a long-time member of Lexington Green Christian Reformed Church where she played the piano for many years. For eight years she served as secretary at South Christian Grade School and in later years volunteered at Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes. Like her father before her, she loved photography and enjoyed traveling, first with Bob and then, after his passing, as a “frequent flyer” on America By Rail tours. She also deeply loved her grandchildren, contributing many hours to their care when they were young.
