Gloria Joy Gilbert, 91, a long-time resident of Wendell, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her home on June 10, 2022.
Gloria was born December 27, 1930 in Twin Fall, Idaho.
Gloria spent a good part of her life cooking and managing restaurants. She cooked for the hospitals in Jerome, Wendell, the Magic Valley Manor, the Y-Inn in Bliss, cafes in Wendell and Magic Reservoir. Later on, she was Dale’s right hand man in the pump business helping him to pull and install pumps.
She loved and fiercely protected any animal that came her way. She raised baby calves and had many dogs and cats throughout the years. There were no strays once they came to her door.
She was always there for her family, loving her children and grandchildren. Her crazy sense of humor will never be forgotten, and will be remembered and carried on in her children.
Gloria is survived by: her husband – Dale E. Gilbert of Wendell, Idaho; her children – Cathy Gilbert (Wendell Johnson) of Richfield, Idaho; Debi Gilbert (Scott Kegelman) of New York; Steve (Kathy) Gilbert of Jerome, Idaho; and Tammy Gilbert (Arthur Tunik) of San Francisco, California; 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; a sister; and a daughter.
