A beautiful spirit and born-again believer, Gloria Jean Jones Kinton, 57, was called home to eternal rest on Thursday, July 25, 2014, at her home with her family in High Point, NC, following an extended illness. She was born on April 4, 1957 in High Point to Luther and Evelyn B. Jones and was one of three children.

Gloria grew up in High Point and graduated from Lucy C. Ragsdale High School in 1975. After high school she attended GTCC and completed many business courses through her employer at the time, Wachovia Bank and Trust. She was also employed at Slane Hosiery Mills for several years. Gloria was employed at Belk Department Store at the time of her death. Her coworkers, as well as her loyal customers loved her. They would some times not shop if she were not there, choosing to come back later. This was not just a job; it was a perfect fit, considering Gloria loved shopping and “finding a good deal”.

She was united in holy matrimony to James Kinton, Jr. on April 19, 1979 and they were blessed with two children. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and the best Nana a grandchild could ever have.

At an early age Gloria accepted Christ and joined the Church of God of Prophecy at Stanton Place in High Point. She maintained a long and dedicated membership until her death.

Her father, Luther Jones and her only sister, Antionette Jones, preceded Gloria in death.

Those left to celebrate her life and to cherish her memories include her beloved husband of 33 years, James; one son, Christopher L. Kinton (Ebonie) of Kernersville; one daughter, Jessica M. Pulliam (Jeffrey) of High Point; three grandchildren, JaVon, Alaysia and Elijah Pulliam; her mother, Evelyn B. Jones; one brother, Luther Ray Jones, Jr. (Monica); one nephew, Tyre Lawhorne Jones; two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; one godmother, Ida Mae Covington; one goddaughter, Nakaya Waden; her special cousins and adoptive family, Bishop & Mrs. Floyd D. Collins, Sr. and family; and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends to numerous to name.
