Gloria W. Johnston of Moscow died Friday, March 11, 2016 at Good Samaritan Moscow Village. She was 92. Gloria was born July 5, 1923 at Avon, ID to Bennie W. and Martha M. Johns Dennis. She spent her younger years at Avon, starting school there. She then went to Deary schools and then to Moscow, graduating from Moscow High School in 1940. Gloria worked at Latah County Title Company in Moscow for a time and married Forrest “Buck” Johnston in Spokane on August 16, 1947. The couple made their home in Spokane for several where he worked for Kaiser Aluminum, a position that later took them to West Virginia and Tacoma, WA during his career. Gloria was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, scrapbooking and cooking. She had a lifelong love of music and played the organ, fiddle and harmonica. Forrest died in March of 1998. She returned to the area shortly thereafter, making her home in a duplex at Good Samaritan. She later lived in the apartments there, and transferred to the skilled portion shortly before her death. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her six brothers, Raymond, Alden, Ethan, Wayne, Lyle and Delano Dennis as well as a nephew, Burton Dennis.
