WINSTED – Gloria Jeanette Goodwin beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, February 22, 2019 with her loving family at her side. She was the beloved wife of David Nelson Goodwin for the past 54 years. Gloria, the daughter of Samuel J. Gath and Jessie (DeVincenti) Gath, was born in Torrington, CT on December 21, 1929. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she had been employed by Canton Elementary school as the School Secretary for 25 years. Her favorite times were spent in her gardens, cooking, shopping with her daughter and traveling with her husband. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband David, Gloria is survived by her daughter, LorieAnn and her husband Dean Nicholson of West Hartland, CT., and a son, Glenn Goodwin; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Vincent Gath, Thomas Gath, Edwin (Teddy) Gath, Samuel Gath and Harold (Butch) Cesnak.
