MAYNARDDURHAM Mrs. Gloria Jean Cockrell Maynard, 69, of 121 Radcliff Circle, died on Tuesday, June 29, . Maynard was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Rev. Johnny Williard Cockrell and Maggie Bennett Cockrell. She was employed for 30 years with the City of Durham as a manager in the tax office. She was a member of Faith Harvest Worship Center and attended Gospel Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a dedicated Christian that taught Sunday School. She volunteered at the Duke Cancer Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. W. “Jay” Maynard, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Partin and husband, Freddie of Durham and two grandchildren, Amber Brooke Partin and Brandon Lee Partin.
