DURHAM Mrs. Gloria Elaine Lowe Levy, 63, of 1901 So Hi Drive, Durham, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, after a brief illness. She was born on May 9, 1948 to the late Arthur Carlyle Lowe and Mildred Elaine Hopson Lowe. Gloria graduated from Southern Durham High School in 1967 and later graduated from Atlantic Beauty College. She was the owner of the Executive Hair Styling. She served her clients and community for over 30 years. She was currently employed with Sallies Beauty Supply as a manager. Gloria was an active member in her community, served as President of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Post 416 and was an active member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church. Gloria had many accomplishments throughout her lifetime, and was loved by many. She dedicated her life nurturing those in need and letting no one go without. She took pride in raising her children and nieces and will be greatly missed by all, but never is survived by her son, Chad Levy, daughter, Tiffany Levy; grandchildren, Leigha Levy and Colton Crosby; brothers, Sidney Lowe and wife, Holly and Rodney Lowe; nieces, Catherine Lowe, Wendy Lowe, Misty Lowe and a nephew, Brandyn Lowe.
