Gloria E. Schmidt, 82, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 12:20 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Hospice House. Gloria was born on March 24, 1934 in Walkerton, Indiana to Wade and Ellen Isabelle (Clark) Stevenson. On September 22, 1951 in Los Angeles, California she married William T. Schmidt, who preceded her in death on June 19, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her grandson Joseph Schmidt; two sisters Marcella Stevenson and Betty Burden; and her brother Wade Stevenson. Gloria is survived by two sons, William (Andrea) Schmidt of South Bend, Indiana and Lee (Debbie) Schmidt of Mishawaka, Indiana; five grandchildren, Erin Schmidt Smith, Kevin Schmidt, Melanie Schmidt, Rachelle Mitchell and Robert Mattasits; seven great-grandchildren, Eira, Lydia, Skylee, Emerald, Bella, Robert and Wyatt; one sister, Nancy Cabana of Houston, Texas; and one brother Eugene (Marian) Stevenson of Illinois.
