Romain1926~2022Gloria D. Romain, (nee D’Emilio), age 95, of Broomall, PA on March 8, 2022, peacefully passed, surrounded by her family. Born in Philadelphia to Israele and Fausta D’Emilio, she was an outstanding high school student who was graduated at sixteen to a program where young women were sent to work for the War Dept at the Pentagon during WWII. She developed a passion for travel and with high school friends, she also worked in New York, Miami, Atlantic City and Las Vegas. It was there she met her husband of 66 years, N. Joseph Romain, Jr. They moved back to Philadelphia where they settled and raised a family of four girls. Gloria was a homemaker who had a passionate interest in the stock market and current affairs, always with a newspaper in hand. She was sensitive to those who experienced social injustices in her time. At home, she had a green-thumb with an enviable vegetable garden, and no guest left her home hungry. She was a loyal friend and talked almost every day with her high school friends over the years and miles. Gloria was predeceased by her three sisters and a brother, Mae, Vera, Sophie, and Dominic. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters: Cindy Miller (John), Sue Holden (Craig), Lisa DiSalle (Ron) and Judy Nigro (Vito); dear grandchildren: Chelsea, Tyler, Dana, Trevor, C.J., Rachel, A.J., and great grandchildren: Michael and
