Gloria Glover, age 96, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ.

Gloria was born in Bayonne, NJ and lived in Bardonia, NY, Inverness and Homosassa, FL before moving to Toms River, NJ in 2015 to live with her daughter, after the passing of her husband, Ernest Glover.

She was an Executive Secretary with IBM for many years and after retiring, she moved to Florida with her husband and opened the “Jolly Fisherman” Restaurant. In 1976, they opened their 2nd restaurant called the “Fort Cooper Station” which was very successful until the late 1990’s. Gloria was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who would do anything for her family. As the Matriarch of the family, she was very traditional.

She taught her grandchildren how to cook and keep a neat and tidy home, so much so, that her grandchildren called her “The General” because everything had to be kept in order and in its place. She loved to sew, knit and crotchet and was fantastic in all aspects of cooking, especially baking. Gloria even made some of her specialty desserts for their restaurants. As a woman who lived a very long and full life, she was an inspiration to her granddaughters and taught them the core values they live by today, especially, as she would say, how to carry themselves as “refined young ladies”.

Gloria was a parishioner of St. Justin Roman Catholic Church in Toms River, NJ.

Gloria is predeceased by her parents John and Helen Budd, her siblings; John, Virginia, and Leon, her husband Ernest Glover and her daughter, Helana Indiero-Sarcone.

Surviving is her Stepchildren; Teena Grant and John Glover, her Grandchildren; Helana Hunley, Rachael Leight, Ron Grant and Diana Grant Ruso and her 10 Great-grandchildren.
