Gloria Avila of Williams, Arizona entered into eternal peace on August 21, 2013 surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 4, 1936 in McNary, AZ and moved to San Francisco, CA where she was raised. Later on in life she returned to Flagstaff where she met her first husband Freddie Almendarez, together they raised their children. In 1986 she was blessed to find love again and married Federico Avila.

Gloria is survived by her husband Federico Avila, children David Rodriguez (Gloria), Gabriel Almendarez (Susan), Rudy Almendarez (Stacy), Arnold Almendarez (Shelly), Veronica Sandoval (Richard), Lorraine Magaña (Victor), Madelyn Trillo (Eddie) and step-sons, Freddie D. Martinez, Freddie Avila, Javier Avila, Jaímié Avila and Orlando Avila, Brother Julian Jimenez and Sister Adeline Riviera Rodriguez. She had 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her first husband Freddie Almendarez, father Guadalupe Jimenez, mother Vivian Riviera, brothers Bobbie Jimenez, Johnny Riviera and Tony Riviera.

Gloria had a passion for cooking and baking and her specialty was Fried Chicken. She loved family gatherings and watching her great grandchildren play sports. Gloria found joy in owning and training German Shepherds. She was happy when her grandchildren would come visit. They would take rides into the woods along with her husband and dogs looking for wildlife.
