Gloria Ann Watson, age 81, stepped peacefully into heaven on November 27, 2021, following a brief illness. Gloria was born on November 15, 1940, in Fort Morgan, CO and grew up on a ranch near Gypsum, CO. Her family moved to Fruita, Colorado her senior year of high school so that her father could manage the ranch at Westwater, Utah. She graduated from Fruita Union High School in 1958 and attended Mesa College, Grand Junction, CO. Gloria was married to Billy Joe Watson for 58 years. Together they had five children, Suzan (Scott) Williams, Fruita, CO, Rachel Sparrow, Grand Junction, CO, Jesse (Dena) Watson, Grand Junction, CO, Miles Watson, Grand Junction, CO, and Paul (Linnea) Watson, Grand Junction, CO.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was the best mom and grandma that we could have asked for and loved each of us unconditionally. She taught us, through example, to love with forgiveness and grace, to appreciate the little things, to stop and smell the roses, and how to make lemonade out of lemons. Her legacy of love will live through her beloved children, precious grandchildren, Cyndi (Alex), David (Courtney), Stacey Jo (Nick), Brian (Bonnie), Brittany (Andy), Jessica (Adrian), Donovan, Hibai, Anna, Enrik, Henry and her dearly loved 15 great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Caleb, Leah, Aidan, Riley, Wyatt, Hagan, Jace, Charli Mae, Jackson, Stella, Zander, Ruby, Cayson, and Adrian. She loved her dear friends, was the hardest worker that any of us ever met and loved helping her family, friends and strangers. She enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, gardening, reading and going on adventures near and far.
If you knew our mom you know that we could write so much more about how wonderful she was and about the impact that she made on so many.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Watson, her parents, Garvin and Elva Stephen, her brothers, Kenneth Stephen and Norman Stephen. Gloria is survived by her children and grandchildren, her sister Lucille Krebs, Evanston, WY, brother Keith Stephen, Beaverton, OR and many nephews and nieces.
Thank you to all who loved her along with us and for the help and support that was given to our family during the few short weeks of caring for and saying goodbye to our mom.
